Bolivian and Ecuadorian Indigenous Youth Share Insights on Education

On October 29, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Quito, PAS – La Paz held a Digital Video Conference on education issues facing indigenous youth in both countries.  This was an informal round-table discussion in which indigenous alumni had the opportunity to share their views on limited educational opportunities, workplace advancement issues, and cultural identity with indigenous young people in Quito, Ecuador.  Students addressed the need for institutional changes in the education system and the challenges faced by youth of indigenous and African descent face in both countries within the current system.  They also focused on labor market access, economic opportunity, and the need for more cultural exchanges throughout the discussion.
