Embassy Hosts Science Fellow for Lake Titicaca Environmental Issues

As part of an ongoing collaboration between U.S. Embassy La Paz, U.S. Embassy Lima, and the Environmental Protection Agency, environmental engineer Paul Fericelli arrived in La Paz for a one month collaboration with the Autoridad binacional Lago Titicaca (ALT).  Mr. Fericelli’s role will be to assist the Peruvian and Bolivian governments in updating their Lake Titicaca management master plan.  His main priorities are: strengthening the working relationship between Bolivia and Peru, implementing Beneficial Use Impairments (BUI) and Area of Concern (AOC) Principles in the Lake Titicaca Master Plan, and addressing the challenge of wastewater treatment.
