Embassy Participation in the 22nd International Book Fair

The US Embassy sponsored a stand at the 22nd version of La Paz International Book Fair from August 3 to August 13, 2017, as this has become for the last 10 years a window for the Embassy to interact with Bolivian population, since this is the biggest cultural event in La Paz, where around 160,000 visits, 300 cultural activities, 150 programs for youth and kids, 20 international authors, having this year special spaces for kids and for teaching purposes; and programs such as bookcrossing and booktuber, where the Embassy had the chance to program virtual and present speakers.

Our brand this year was based on English teaching and learning, to have an extended program on it we have invited our counterparts in the business of English learning programs such as the local university, binational center and Institute for English Teaching CETI.

We also sponsored Ann Chaitovitz, Regional IPR Attaché, U.S. Department of Commerce; a virtual booktuber speaker; a writer on children’s books and a series of conferences in our kiosk for some of our Alumni to inspire interested school students on how English learning helped and changed their lives.
