The U.S. Consular Agency in Santa Cruz provides limited passport and citizenship services for U.S. citizens and accepts birth registrations for U.S. citizen children born abroad.  A full range of passport and citizenship services are available at the U.S. Embassy in La Paz.

The U.S. Consular Agency accepts, by appointment only, all passport and citizenship applications requiring a personal appearance.  Applications for these services will be transmitted to the U.S. Embassy in La Paz for processing.

All passport applications require one recent color U.S. passport sized photo graph.  For specific information on passport photographs please click HERE.

Payment for passport and citizenship services can be done in Bolivianos or USD.  Please note that the Consular Agency does not accept credit cards.

In order to provide more effective customer service, the U.S. Consular Agency in Santa Cruz has an appointment system for all non-emergency services, including passport renewals. We ask that you make an appointment before your visit.  Please note that as per Consular Agency security regulation, if an application will be submitted on behalf of a minor child, both the child and the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will all need to have appointments in order to enter the Consular Agency. Our appointment system allows you to plan your visit in advance, ensures shorter wait times, and allows more efficient handling of individual cases. Only customers with appointments will be admitted into the Consular Agency for all non-emergency matters.
