Journalists Eager to Tell Stories over the Web in Bolivia

On October 27 – 29, the U.S. Embassy co-hosted a workshop on the creation of digital audio programs (podcasts) in La Paz, in which 56 digital journalists from all over the country participated. The journalists, mostly women, demonstrated that there is eagerness to tell stories through digital media in Bolivia.

During the workshop, the participants produced 14 podcasts on the Day of the Dead. The workshop was facilitated by experts in digital journalism Teresa Bouza and Ruxandra Guidi, and was co-sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, the Bolivian chapter of the international network of women journalists “Chicas Poderosas, Mujeres Influyentes,” and digital newspaper “La Pública.” “This is the new trend of digital journalism. And now, with this workshop, I have realized that once you try it, you don’t want to leave it anymore,” a participant commented.
