The U.S. Embassy in La Paz informs U.S. citizens that demonstrations organized by the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) and the National Coordinator for Change (CONALCAM) will take place in front of the U.S. Embassy in La Paz in Avenida Arce #2780 at 6:00 p.m. on August 17, 2017. The expected number of demonstrators is unknown. Heavy traffic is expected in the surrounding area.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
