As a sign of friendship and support for education in the city of Trinidad, the United States Embassy delivered today 631 backpacks and school supplies valued at $15,000 to “15 de Agosto” and “1ro de Mayo” schools in Trinidad, Beni.
During the delivery ceremony, U.S. Embassy representative Joshua Darting said he hoped that the donation would motivate students to resume classes with greater enthusiasm after their winter vacation.
“Together, we are helping to build a more educated society with more opportunities for employment, health, food, and security; a society in which education is fundamental,” Darting said.

This donation was possible thanks to coordination and efforts by national senator for the Department of Beni Cecilia Moyoviri Moye. “I was concerned about low-income students from families who migrated from the countryside to the city, and I am very happy to have been able to get backpacks and school supplies for these two educational units,” Moyoviri said.
The donation is part of the commitment of the United States Embassy to offer opportunities to Bolivian children and youth, through educational exchanges, English teaching programs, and support to entrepreneurship.
