U.S. Embassy Heightens Commercial Outreach With a Series of U.S. Trade Show Visits

From August 26-28, Commercial Officer Leah Pillsbury escorted a Bolivian delegation to the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.  This was the first time the Embassy partnered with the Department of Commerce International Buyer program to take a delegation to the largest agriculture show in the U.S. Bolivian delegates saw a wide array of tractors and other farm implements as well as hybrid seed technology and the latest in farm apps. As a result of success in our visits to the International Franchise Expo in June as well as Farm Progress in August, the Business Facilitation Incentive Fund at the State Department recently approved funding for commercial specialists to lead two more delegations to US trade shows this calendar year. The Embassy has already begun recruiting for Pack Expo in Chicago, IL in November, and Power-Gen Expo in Orlando, FL in December.
