Resumption of Visa Services:

  1. Immigrant Visas
  2. Routine Nonimmigrant Visas

The U.S. Embassy has resumed routine nonimmigrant and immigrant visa services.  Due to increased demand and mandatory biosecurity measures, wait times for appointments are longer than usual.

If you have an emergency that requires immediate travel, please follow the guidance provided at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-bo/niv  or send an e-mail to ConsularLaPazNIV@state.gov to request an emergency appointment.

Extension of Visa Fee Validity

The U.S. Department of State understands that many applicants have paid the visa application fee and are still awaiting an available interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy. The U.S. Department of States has extended the validity of visa application fees until September 30, 2022, ensuring that fees paid during the COVID-19 pandemic will be accepted once routine consular services resume. Please continue to monitor this site for the latest information on visa operations at the U.S. Embassy in La Paz, Bolivia.
