In the first YLAI TechCamp, sixty-five Latin American entrepreneurs, YLAI Fellows from Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Bolivia met for a two-day Camp. The event took place in Santa Cruz. It gathered the participants to identify common challenges and solutions for their startups.

The event was hosted by Embassy La Paz, in partnership with the Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP), the bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA), and local partner American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM).
This sub-regional Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) event, April 7-8, 2017, brought eight technology experts from the United States, El Salvador, Chile, Peru, and Bolivia to lead small-group sessions. The sessions included digital storytelling, social media management, design thinking. They also covered video production, animation, crowdfunding, digital security, and data visualization.

With support from the trainers, these young entrepreneurs crafted challenge statements, brainstormed solutions, and created platforms/programs that would address their challenges. These solutions were then discussed with all other participants.
