On September 28, more than 60 Access Program students visited the Santa Isabel area of District 2 in the city of El Alto to plant trees and raise awareness among residents about the importance of ecology. The young students were accompanied by embassy officials who helped them plant dozens of trees.
Since its inception in 2004, approximately 95,000 students in more than 85 countries have participated in the Access Program. This program started in 2010 in Bolivia and has already benefited 136 low-income indigenous students from El Alto. It includes two years of English-language classes and a cultural component.
